President Election Committee of Mogilev region has been formed at today’s joint session of the regional deputies’ council presidium and Mogilev regional executive committee.
The Committee consists of 13 members – representatives of political parties and public associations; they are Sergei Danilovich Zhuravski (representing Mogilev regional organisation of Communist Party of Belarus), Vladimir Alexandrovich Parfionov (representing Mogilev regional organisation of joint civil party), Elena Vladimirovna Bolshekova (representing Mogilev regional organisation of public association), Nikolai Sergeevich Borisenko (representing Mogilev regional organisation of “Belaya Rus” public association). Two more members represent work collectives, and six members were chosen according to voters’ applications.
34 applications were sent to Mogilev regional executive committee and Deputies’ Council during September 15 – 26. “All requirements of the Belarusian legislation have been observed. 23% of committee members are State employees, more than 38% are representatives of political parties and public associations; 6 members are from Mogilev, 7 – from different districts of the region. Among the criteria one had to satisfy to be chosen a member of the Committee were professional qualities and experience”, - Alexander Sivaev, a head of human resources department of Mogilev regional executive committee, informed.
The first sitting of the Committee is to have been held by October 1; it aims at choosing a chairman, his deputies and executive secretary. The Committee will co-ordinate the work of all territorial committees in the region, monitor its compliance with election legislation.

Presidential election will be held on December 19, 2010.
