Restored Cross of St. Evfrosiniya Polotskaya will be brought to Bobruisk nunnery on May 26 around 7 p.m., to stay her till May 27, - religion and ethnicity department of regional executive committee informs. Afterwards the sanctuary will be brought to Mogilev to stay here till May 30, first – in Three Saints Cathedral, then – in Saint Nicolas Nunnery. The sanctuary has been travelling over Belarusian land in honour of the 100th anniversary of famous coenobite and enlighter. The original of the Cross of St. Evfrosiniya Polotskaya disappeared during the Great Patriotic War.
Later, in 1992, Brest jeweller Nicolai Kuzmichev was ordered to make the replica of the Cross; the work was finished in 1997. The Cross was sanctified by Philaret Metropolitan; now it is kept in Spass – Transfiguration Cathedral of Polotsk Spass - Evfrosiniya Nunnery. The Cross was made from cypress, with gold and silver plates, images of saints, and jewels.
