Russian food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor will exclude 20 Belarusian companies from the list of livestock product suppliers to Russia from November 1, 2008.
The decision comes after Belarusian specialists failed to carry out a second inspection of the companies that had earlier been inspected by Rosselkhoznadzor, and Rosselkhoznadzor specialists detected systemic defects in the Belarusian food product control system, the agency said on October 23.
Rosselkhoznadzor also refused to include in the list of suppliers three companies offered by Belarus because they do not meet Russian hygienic standards, the statement said.
The Belarusian State Veterinary Service suggested to exclude from the list of suppliers to Russia three dairy processing and two meat processing factories and one poultry farm. Their facilities were inspected at the request of Rosselkhoznadzor.
