The Second Belarusian-Russian Forum of Young Journalists broadens its format and borders - Proleskovsky

The Second Belarusian-Russian Forum of Young Journalists "Common Vision for the Future" opened in Mogilev on November, 27. It brought together more than 150 participants from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and Armenia, and also media experts and heads of leading media outlets from four countries.

According to the Minister of Information of Belarus Oleg Poleskovsky, the event is very important and essential within the integration processes that have been taking place on the post-Soviet territory. In point of fact, Belarus is creating the single international community of young journalists. It is remarkable that the idea of the regular journalists' forum was initiated by journalists themselves in Gomel last year.

In Oleg Poleskovsky's words, the project finalizes the year of international journalists' cooperation coordinated by the Ministry of Information of Belarus. The list of the most important events includes: the international Mass Media exhibition, the regular international media forum, the reception of the Russian press forum, the forum of scientific and creative intellectuals and finally – the Belarusian-Russian Forum of Young Journalists.

“The project is becoming more and more popular and attracts considerable attention. Mogilev has got together a so-called integration body – young journalists from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and Armenia. The main task of the forum is professional communication of young people, improving mass media representatives' qualification, professional and international communication development, formation of the single media community of Belarus and Russia. It is therefore not by chance that the forum changes its location. Last year it was held in Gomel. This year Mogilev, the culture capital of Belarus and the CIS, is a host of the event. Next year it is expected to take place in Vitebsk or Grodno regions.” - Oleg Poleskovsky said.

He also stressed the importance of the fact that the forum takes place in Belarus. “We hope that the forum will develop and broaden its format. We are sure that this year's forum will be traditionally fruitful and efficient”.
