Sixty young musicians aged 7 - 16 years old will take part in the III Open City Contest of Violinists and Cellists named after M.N. Soldatov. There will be three age groups in two nominations - violoncello and violin, a correspondent of the site was told at the ideology, culture and youth matters department of Mogilev city executive committee.
"Among the participants are representatives of Minsk, Brest, Gomel, Mogilev, Bobruisk, Shklov, Gorki and other towns of Belarus", the source specified. "There will be 22 cellists and 38 violinists; some of them will take part in the contest for the second or the third time. "It proves that such contests promote development of creative abilities of talented young people, and give them opportunity of sharing experience.
The jury will use a twenty-point scale. The winners in each nomination and each age group will receive I, II, III degree Diplomas. The first degree laureates will be granted monetary reward (3 base units); the reward for the second degree laureates will make up 2 base units. The third degree laureates will be granted 1 base unit as a reward.
The contest will be held on April 10-11 at Mogilev Arts School for Children №3 named after M.N. Soldatov. The opening ceremony takes place at 11 a.m. on April, 10. The awarding ceremony and the laureates' gala-concert start at 4 p.m. on April, 11.
