Mogilev-based Strommashina exported $19.3 million worth of goods in January-October 2008, or 50% up on the year, a company representative told Interfax-West.
Over the period in question exports to Russia rose by 13%. Russia accounted for 72% of the company's exports, the source reported.
In January-October Strommashina made BYR 93.7 billion worth of goods, or 39.8% up on the year. Consumer goods output grew 2.5% to reach BYR 12 billion.
Strommashina plant was founded in 1913. It is the CIS leading manufacturer of equipment for the production of construction materials and railway ties. The company also specialises in equipment and technological lines (over 40 titles) for producing ceramic and fire bricks, asbestos-cement products (roofing slates, pipes), soft roofing (ruberoid, glass-fibre mats), railway sleepers and pointwork sleepers, cement goods (paving slabs, curb stones). The plant employs 2,600 persons.
