The training system of agriculture students for Mogilev region needs serious changes – Petr Rudnik

The training system of agriculture students for Mogilev region needs serious changes. The statement is made by Petr Rudnik, the chairman of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee at the regional seminar on the questions of young agriculture specialists’ training.

It is the first seminar of the kind. According to the governor, the agriculture complex needs not only experienced mid-aged managers. The modern reality demands agriculture specialists with wide knowledge of modern technologies and creative and fluid decision-making.

The agriculture organizations of Mogilev region employ over 41, 000. 16% of them are under 30 years old; 79% are of the age group 30-60; 5% are of pension age. The statistics are not so bad. But the region must increase the number of young people to make it at least 25%.

The situation with educational level of agriculture managers is also to be improved. 40% of them do not have higher education. Moreover, 15% of agriculture employees do not have professional training at all.
