On September 28, Mogilev region welcomed Georgia Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador in Belarus who came to the region with a two-day visit.
George Chkheidze visited local places of interest and took part in the opening ceremony of ХIII International Animation Film Festival in Mogilev “Animaevka-2010”. In his speech he thanked directors of the festival for having the opportunity to present the Georgian films for consideration of the jury and the public.
Today the Ambassador visited “Pridneprovie” exhibition centre, “Mogilevliftmash” plant, and had a meeting with the governor of the region Peter Rudnick. The volume of foreign trade between Mogilev region and Georgia increased 1.4-fold in January – July, and made up $3.5 mln. “Though we have a certain progress in trade, it doesn’t correspond to our potential and resources. That’s why in the nearest future we are to take concrete measures to promote and expand economic co-operation and increase international trade turnover”, - Peter Rudnick stressed.
The governor invited George Chkheidze and the Georgian investors to take part at V International Investment Forum “Mogilev region – new perspectives of investments” that take place on October, 7 in the regional centre.
“We will be glad to receive the Georgian delegation and have a round-table talk to discuss prospects of economic co-operation, and work out certain investment projects, for ex. - founding an enterprise of the Georgian vines bottling in Mogilev region”, - the head of the region supposed.
