The Ukrainian and Belarusian governments have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the energy sector.
Ukrainian and Belarusian First Deputy Prime Ministers Oleksandr Turchynov and Vladimir Semashko signed the document on Tuesday, an Interfax-Ukraine reporter said.
The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers and the Belarusian government also signed an agreement on easier rules for crossing the section of the Slavutych-Chornobyl NPP road running through Belarus and a protocol to the agreement. The documents were also signed by Turchynov and Semashko.
The Ukrainian and Belarusian governments, as well as the two countries' national banks, signed a memorandum on drafting measures needed to intensify bilateral trade and economic cooperation amid the global financial and economic crises. Turchynov, Semashko, National Bank of Ukraine Deputy Head Pavlo Senysch, and National Bank of Belarus Head Petr Prokopovich signed the document.
Ukrainian and Belarusian Foreign Ministers Volodymyr Ohryzko and Sergei Martynov also signed a consular convention between the two countries.
The documents were signed in the presence of Ukrainian and Belarusian Presidents Viktor Yuschenko and Alexander Lukashenko.
