Mogilev City Hall is planning to build an underground pedestrian crossing in the downtown, Interfax learnt from the construction department of the administration of the city.
The 12-metre-long tunnel will be built under Mir Avenue and Leninskaya Street that are often jammed with traffic during rush hours.
The wheelchair-accessible pedestrian crossing will be fitted with pay phones and WCs.
The estimated cost of the project is BYR 21 billion. The tunnel is expected to be commissioned next year.
The construction will start on June 12. The junction of Leninskaya Street and Mirv Avenue will be closed from June 12 till September 1.
