The unemployment rate in Mogilev Region shrank by 0.3 percentage points in 2008 to make 0.8% as of January 1, 2009, Interfax-West learnt from the regional employment committee.
In late December 2007 the region's unemployment rate stood at 1.1%, the source added.
As of January 1, 2008, there were 3,900 unemployed persons in the region (66% of them were women).
Over the period in question local employment agencies found full-time jobs for 19,000 persons.
There were created 18,100 new jobs.
