Visiting forests is forbidden in Mogilev region, the correspondent of the site learnt at propaganda and training centre of Mogilev region department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The measure aims at preventing fires in forests and peat lands, since the fire risk is high due to unusual heat wave and lack of rain, the source specified.

"During this period only the forest roads running to settlements or specially equipped sites may be used", specialists told. "Since visiting forests has been forbidden, a person walking in a forest will be fined for the administrative violation".

About 70% of Mogilev region's territory is being monitored by 74 fire lookout towers, including 22 towers equipped with remote cameras. "To timely detect fires and inform about them the region has established fire duty for specialists of the republican unitary enterprise of air forest protection "Bellesavia. Besides, militiamen, rescues and foresters are monitoring forests to see that banning on visiting forests is observed", specialists stressed.
