The solemn ceremony was held as a part of the All-Belarusian action "We are Belarus' citizens!" Thirty talented boys and girls - the region's pride - received their main document.
"When young people get passports, it's a significant event in their lives, as they become full citizens of the Republic of Belarus", chairman of Mogilev regional council of deputies Anatoly Isachenko told. "It's a great honour being a citizen of our country. Any Belarusian is proud of being a citizen of our state, whether he is in Belarus or abroad."
Only work, intelligence and talent can help us prosper, the chairman stressed. "Studies should be your priority now. Only well-educated specialists can break through to new technologies, improve quality of life and help Belarus reach the level of highly-developed countries", the chairman summed up. Anatoly Isachenko congratulated young activists with this important event in their lives and presented passports and illustrated editions "I am the Citizen of the Republic of Belarus".
The official ceremony was held at the Mogilev Regional Arts Museum named after P.V. Maslenikov. Partaken in it were The majority of them are activists, best pupils, winners of the school Olympiads, winners of various contest, as well as deputy chairman of Mogilev region executive committee Valery Malashko, representatives of local authorities, veterans' organisations, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
