Yuri Nesteruk won at Zabor art-project held in Mogilev

Famous Mogilev artist Yuri Nesteruk became the winner of Zabor art-project held in the regional centre. “Twenty artists partook in the contest; four of them had already reached the final”, - the director of the art-project Antonina Serebryakova told. “Choosing a winner wasn’t an easy task, as far as each participant is a mature artist, working in different trends of modern art. But there could be only one winner, and it was Yuri Nesteruk”.

According to Yuri Nesteruk, the art entering a town’s space is a novelty “making art more accessible and helping modern artists in networking and communicating with each other and men of virtu which they lacked before. As for me, thanks to the Zabor project I met many interesting people, and I’m sure that all the competitors are rewarding”.

The exhibition opened on 7 June, and presented 40 works of all finalists of the contest: Yuri Nesteruk, Igor Bespalov, Svetlana Linkevich-Adamovich, and Mikhail Maximov. Within two months starting from 19 July reproductions of pictures of five Belarusian artists (including Yuri Nesteruk) will be pleasing to the eyes of the Mogilevers.

The Zabor art project is an exhibition of reproductions of modern Belarusian artists on fences of Belarusian cities. The project was first presented in Minsk on 24 July last year. Then the exhibition was shown in Warsaw (31 October 2012); then followed Vitebsk (29 March 2013) and Gomel (24 May 2013).
