May 31, 2008 became a remarkable day in Bobruisk’s life: Ice Palace seating 7,191 spectators opened. So far it is the largest construction of the kind in the Republic. Its arena may host tournaments in 15 kinds of sports (volleyball, basketball, handball, etc.). The full name of the complex is “Bobruisk Arena” Sports Complex.

Due to its shape “Bobruisk Arena” is often called by the locals “a flying saucer”. Indeed, the building looks like not belonging to the earth. The peculiar architectural design made it possible to attach this modern building to the landscape structure of “Bobruisk Arena” architectural monument.

 “Bobruisk Arena” palace situated on the right bank of the Berezina river is the largest indoor sports complexes of the Republic. It seats 7,191 spectators, including 10 seats specially equipped for the disabled and 30 seats in guest boxes. The major ice arena is a one-storey construction. The rest of the complex is two-storied.

An entrance hall with a cloakroom, lavatories, smoking rooms, four cloakrooms for amateurs of mass figure skating, security room, firemen’s office, four cloakrooms for hockey players, offices of referees, coaches, and trainers, choreography and acrobatics halls with cloakrooms, as well as rest rooms for sportsmen and medical staff are situated on the ground floor.

Administration block, an assembly hall, conference hall, negotiations room, rest room and a VIP-sitting-room, doctor’s office, classrooms and study rooms, household rooms and premises, buffet, occupy the first floor.


“Bobruisk Arena” provides all necessary facilities for training highly qualified sportsmen, educating students of sports schools and colleges, hosting regional, republican and international hockey, figure skating, sports games competitions, as well as holding different sports and recreational activities for population.

“Bobruisk Arena” Sports Complex serves as the home of “Shinnik” local hockey team of the Belarusian Extraliga.
