Klimovichi, a town with a bee on its emblem, has been hosting GOLDEN BEE Children’s Art Festival since 1995.
In 1999 the festival turned into a regional venue only to transform into an international event in 2001.
In 2005 the festival hosted about 600 children from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria.
The Klimovichi festival is an annual contest for children and teenagers aged 9-16.
Its schedule includes various exhibitions, plein airs, competitions, fireworks.
Sightseeing and accommodation in Klimovichi:
- The town of Klimovichi was mentioned in the chronicles that date back to the early 17th century. In the meantime, the town cannot boast any historical monuments because of World War II that swept across the town.
- The only historical monument surviving is St Mikhail’s Church built in the middle of the 19th century by order of Governor-General Muraviyov. There are two museums in Klimovichi dedicated to local history and local arts and crafts.
