Mogilev Region has seen meat and poultry sales grow by 8.5% in live weight terms in January-October 2008 to reach 91.3 thousand tonnes, Interfax-West has learnt from the regional authority on agriculture and foods.
Livestock sales have grown by 8.5%, poultry 20.7%, pork 3.4%, the officials informed.
Also, Mogilev Region farms produced 551.3 thousand tonnes of milk (9.3% up) and 208.2 million eggs (3.2% up).
Milk sales totaled 463,700 tonnes (84% of the total yield). The average milk yield per cow made 4,003 kilos (10% up).
Besides, local farms produced 5,700 tonnes of vegetables (4.3% down).
Agribusiness enterprises of Mogilev Region earned a 9.1% higher net profit in January-October 2008 than in January-October 2007.
Their net profit totaled BYR 166.6 billion (40.4% up). At the same time, one agricultural enterprise ended the period with a net loss of BYR 500 million.
The return on sales in January-Ocotber 2008 made 10.1%.
