Retail trade turnover in Mogilev Region's rural areas totalled BYR 44.2 billion in January-February 2007, which is 15.4% up on the year, Interfax learnt from the department of trade, public catering and consumer services of Mogilev Region Administration.
The value of foodstuffs sold made BYR 292 billion, non-foods - BYR 219 billion, which is 13.8% and 28.5% up against 2006 respectively.
As far as foods are concerned, last year meat and poultry sales in Mogilev Region expanded by 11.3%, cheese - 30.5% up, vegetable oil - 32.7%, canned fish - 18.6%, juices - 44.4%.
As for non-foods, Mogilev Region saw an increase in sales of leather footwear - 30%, detergents - 61%, refrigerators and freezers - 15.4%, bicycles and motorbikes - 14.7%, printer publications - 35.8%.
As of March 1, 2007 the stocks of ready-made goods stood at BYR 208.3 billion, which ensures 44 days of trade, the specialists specified.
