Mogilev Region enterprises increased the value of commodity exports by 28.7% in January-June 2007 in comparison with this time last year to a total of $693.4 million, an official with the Foreign Trade Department of Mogilev Region Administration told Interfax.
Exports to the CIS rose by 33.8%, non-CIS - 18.2%, the source specified. The value of import increased by 22.8% to $560.5 million. As a result, the region ended the period with a trade surplus of $132.9 million against $82.1 million in January-June 2006.
Import growth target for H1 2007 is 7%, while export was expected to rise by 11%, the source reminded.
Over the period in question the region exported $9.9 million worth of services (mostly transport and tourism), or 7% up on the year (agaist the target of 11%). The surplus in foreign trade in services made $5.3 million in January-June 2007, the source reported.
