Mogilev Region commissioned 238.4 thousand square metres of housing in the six-month period, which makes 56.1% of the year target and 32.4% up in comparison with January-June 2006, the Committee for housing construction and investments of the regional administration told Interfax.
As much as 101.4 thousand square metres of houses was commissioned in rural areas (74.6% and 25.5% respectively), the source said.
The proportion of housing commissioned in rural areas in the six-month period made 33% of the total number of houses made operational in the region.
The share of housing built on bank loans makes 57.5%, investments of private households - 40.1%.
As reported by the committee, a total of BYR 70.3 billion was invested in housing construction in Mogilev Region in January-June 2007 (62.3% of the total value of funds allocated for that purpose).
