Mogilev Region is planning to increase retail sales of communications services by 20% on the year in 2007, a region administration official told Interfax.
The boost will be achieved mostly by means of expanding coverage in small towns and agribusiness centres.
They are also planning to launch a few telephone switchboards with a total capacity of 24.3 thousand numbers. By the end of the year the total number of fixed phone numbers in Mogilev Region is expected to reach 382.1 thousand.
The share of digital switchboard is expected to reach 65.1% this year against 60.5% last year.
They are also planning to extend the BelPak network capacity by 480 ports and 3,000 ADSL ports, in order to ensure high-speed broadband internet connection.
