Mogilev Region farms produced over 9,200 tons of cattle and poultry meat in January 2008, or 12.5% up on the year, Interfax learnt from the regional committee for agriculture and foodstuffs.
The gross milk yield in Mogilev Region rose by 8.4% on the year to reach 42,000 tons. The output of eggs grew 4.7% to 21.8 million.
Milk sales grew 8.5% (34,400 tons), and the average milk yield per cow increased by 8.5% to 305 kilos.
On the whole, Mogilev Region's agricultural output increased by 4.1% on the year in January 2008. The net profit of agricultural companies totaled BYR 142 billion (27.2% up).
At the same time, three companies (1.1% of their total number) ended the month with a net loss of BYR 1,281 million.
The return on sales reached 7.9% in 2007 (against 3% in 2006), the source informed.
