Mogilev branch of the national unitary enterprise Belaeronavigatsiya started reconstruction and major repairs of runways and apron. Main works are to start in June, and to complete in July. Br 40 bln will be spent by the enterprise for this purpose (last year’s investments from internal funds made up Br13 bln). The runway and the apron will be asphalted and marked. The main contractor is Mogilev road-building trust №3. At present the load-carrying capacity of the runway’s covering doesn’t meet modern requirements, as it hasn’t been repaired for 35 years. It slows down the progress of the airport, and makes it difficult to provide the security of lettered flights, the majority of which need large runways for airliners, including wide-body aircrafts like Вoeing-747.
