Mogilev awarded the certificate of the CIS and Belarus’ cultural capital

During the festive meeting dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Mogilev region’s establishing that was held on January 26, Mogilev was awarded the certificate of the CIS and Belarus’ cultural capital.

The action that started in Belarus in 2010 aims at popularizing the best achievements of the national culture, promote the activities of regional establishments of culture and local bodies of government, attracting both domestic and international tourists to the country’s region.

Polotsk was the first city to be awarded the title of the cultural capital. In 2011 Gomel picked up the baton from Polotsk, then Nesvizh produced the line, and this year Mogilev was awarded this honourary title.
