Cement will be produced with use of peat burning energy. The Belarusian cement plant is constructing the corresponding line. Today the plant uses Russian coal from Kemerovo. Domestic peat is cheaper than Russian fuel. So, the company expects to cut down its production costs. The target for 2018 is $40 for a ton of cement. The new line is planned to open by 2016.
JSC “Mogilevzhelezobeton” and JSC “Lyubansky Industrial Complex of Building Materials” will enter JSC “Belarusian Cement Plant” (Kostyukovichi). According to Andrey Shmatkov, the deputy director general of “Belarusian Cement Plant”, the merger was initiated by the Construction and Architecture Ministry of Belarus.

In 2011 a number of large industrial enterprises in Belarus were reorganized into open joint stock companies. Information was provided by State property committee while commenting on the Decree №7 of January, 5 “On some matters of reorganizing republican unitary enterprises into open joint stock companies”. According to the Decree, 54 enterprises will be reorganized in 2011-2013.
Three new cement production lines with the capacity of 1.8 mln tonnes per year each one must be set into operation in Belarus just-in-time. The task was set by the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich at a session dedicated to the development of Belarus’ cement industry, which took place at the RUE “Belarusian Cement Plant” on 30 March.
