15.5 thousand packets of cigarettes and 320 l beer were confiscated for illegal transportation in Chausy district. The goods were illegally transported by a native of Mordovia in “Volkswagen Transporter”.
The territory by the block of flats №5 and other multistory buildings in Azarova Street, Chausy, is really beautified: asphalt pavements, a car park, well-groomed trees, and clean entrances. A lot is done by the dwellers themselves. But it took time to persuade the residents to become active participants of beautification processes of the area.

Chausy district opened the monument to the Soviet Union Hero Ivan Lazarenko. A granite monument bearing a carved portrait and initials of Ivan Lazarenko was erected on the place of the general-major’s death in 1944 when he took part in Mogilev’s operation close by the road connecting two villages – Drachkovo and Kholmy.

Chausy launched a new hotel of the same name. The information is provided by Larisa Novozhilova, a head of “Chausy” ChUKP “Zhilkomhoz”.
The hotel is located in the reconstructed four-storey building of the local PMK almost in the centre of the town. The hotel has got 27 rooms to host 74 guests. There are also 6 suites and one room for disabled people.
When full recourse financing provided, construction of skiing and roller-skate run and biathlon ground in Chaussy district will be completed in 2014. Leveling operation has been completed; water and sewerage supply systems, heating main and the foundation for administrative and recreation building have already been constructed.

Seven hiding places are laid by travelling cyclists along the green route “Zhivaya Voda” in Mogilev region. The hiding places were laid while testing the first part of the route (Mogilev, Dribin, Chausy, Mstislavl, Krichev districts). Its length of 300 kilometers was covered by travelling cyclists within 4 days.
Much ammunition was found in the forest not far from Khodorovo and Kamenka villages of Chaussy district. The explosive was equal to 30 kg of TNT.
Specialists of Mogilev region department of KGB discovered and confiscated 116 pieces of ammunition left from the period of the Great Patriotic War: 21 grenades, 6 bombshells, 54 mines, 3 detonating fuses, 32 cartridges.
Starting from September 1, 2012 schoolchildren of Mogilev Cadet School and Chaussy secondary school №2 will have opportunity to study at classes with advanced study of law. The educational establishments have reached the respective agreement with the Department of Internal Affairs of Mogilev region executive committee.
Two containers of humanitarian supply of $150 thousand were brought to Chaussy district by the Canadian delegation from Brockville. The aid, granted within the frameworks of “Canada’s help for Chernobyl victims” project, will be sent to the boarding school, Khatskovichi kindergarten, and the disabled children.
