It has become a matter of tradition for Mogilev cinema theatres to join the campaign timed to the World AIDS Day, specialists of the institution say.
September 28 – October 2 Mogilev’s residents will get acquainted with Iranian cinema. The Days of the Cinematography of Iran will take place at the Rodina Cinema.
The youth’s cinema action “Grieve Bell” takes place in Mogilev region June 16-22. The information is provided by Kinovideoprokat enterprise.
On September 25-27 "Rodina" cinema theatre (Mogilev) hosts «The Manhattan Short Film Festival», specialists of "Kinovideoprokat" inform. The agenda of the festival includes 10 short films representing the USA, Germany, France, Turkey, Chile, Kososvo, Finland, Switzerland.
Pavel Chuhrai shoots the film “Stranger” based on the novel by Efraim Sevela “Sell you mom”. Efim Evelevich Drabkin is a real name of the author. He was a close friend of Pavel Chuhrai’s father. Pavel Chuhrai has discussed some things with Efraim Sevela’s widow and is now shooting a film on his novel. The filf is shot in Lithuania.
June 9-10 Mogilev’s Kosmos Cinema shows the collection of the best live-action short films of the world. Films start at 18.30. The information is provided by “Kinovideoprokat” Company. The program “The world of short films” includes 7 short films of different genres, winners of the well-known film festivals. The films are from Great Britain, the USA, Germany.
On November 25-30 Mogilev hosts Kazakhstan cinema festival, Mogilev branch of Kinovideoprokat informs.
On May 20-24 Mogilev hosts Italian films week. The films to be shown in the original with Russian subtitles are “Generazione mille euro”, “Scontro di civiltà per un ascensore a Piazza Vittorio”, “Notte prima degli esami - Oggi”.
Czech and Slovakia Films Days will be held in Mogilev on May 15-19. There will be films in original languages with the Russian subtitles for different tastes and age groups.
Belarusian cinema week started in Mogilev. “Kinovideoprokat” regional enterprise has worked out a rich and diverse programme dedicated to the Days of Belarusian Cinema.
December 18, “Cosmos” cinema theatre welcomes Mogilevers and city guests to the meeting with directors and producers of “Mamochki” film; it will be followed by watching the film.
April, 10-12 Mogilev’s citizens will be able to see the films of the Golden Manhattan Short Film Festival Collection 2009-2011. The information is provided by the Company “Kinovideoprokat”. The program of the event includes 10 films of different genres: experimental films, animations, fictions, musicals.
Today “Tovarishch” cinema theatre in Bobruisk resumed functioning after a two-week reconstruction. The first film shown was “We believe in love”. A new fire-safe carpet was laid, and light-emitting diodes were built into the steps. “Such illumination helps people see the steps in darkness, and at the same time it doesn’t prevent others from watching a film”, the source specified.
February, 6-16 the “Chyrvonaya Zorka” Cinema shows a new documentary about Mogilev City – “Mogilev – Eastern Capital of Belarus”. The information is provided by “Kinovideoprokat” Company.
It will be for the eighth time when Mogilev will host the week of the French films at the end of November. The cultural event that opens on November 24, 5.30 p.m. at “Kosmos” cinema theatre, is organised by “Kinovideoprokat” Mogilev state enterprise, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus.
October, 25-30 Mogilev holds the film week “Turovskaya Osen” (Turov’s Autumn). The event is dedicated to the memory of Victor Turov, our famous countryman, film director and screenwriter, Honoured Art person. The information is provided by the state Enterprise “Kinovideoprokat”.
The event has also become a good tradition commemorating the person whose art brought fame to Mogilev.
Mogilev opened the first 3G cinema. The updated building of the “Oktyabr” Cinema hosts 400 visitors.
“Gnomeo and Juliet” is the first animated family film which Mogilev citizens saw. “The Green Hornet’ is the next film to be shown.
In the nearest future the “Oktyabr” will diversify repertory.
3D films will appear on the screens of Mogilev cinema theatres. Thus, in March “Rodina” cinema theatre is starting installation of special equipment to provide the 3D effect.
Mogilev “Kinovideoprokat” has already purchased necessary equipment from “Kristi-Canada” firm, as well as “Dolby” sound system. The establishment spent Br760 mln.
