The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has initiated the discussion on the project of national action plan on implementing principles of environment-friendly economy in different branches of Belarus' economy till 2020; the discussion is on till November 4. June 5 Mstislavl starts an action to clear the Vihra River. The event celebrates Environment Protection Day. The project was initiated by Igor Marzalyuk, Doctor of History, Professor.
In his words, 50 divers from all over Belarus will come to Mstislavl for three days. “Morskoi Pegas” Club and its instructor Andrei Likhachev will assist the participants of the action.
Special committee will study ecological situation at Veino village of Mogilev district. The task was set by the chairman of Mogilev region executive committee Vladimir Domanevsky during the direct telephone line, after having received two phone calls from villagers.
In 2014 Mogilev region cut down air pollution by over 800 tons. The situation improved due to the fact that the biggest enterprises of the region – two cement plants, Mogilevliftmash, Mogilev rail carriage building works and others – introduced nature protection actions. A new speciality "Nature Protection Activity" will be established at Mogilev State University of Food Technologies in the coming academic year of 2014-2015. Mogilev’s ecologists admit the problem of cow-parsnip spreading over the city. “Mogilevzelenstroi” is ready to fight with cow-parsnip. The main areas are Podnikoliye, the Dubrovenka bank area, Orlovskogo Street. The total area to fight with cow-parsnip is over 50 hectares in 65 areas of the city.
Krugloye’s forests welcome the deer from the Belovezhskaya Pushcha. According to Andrei Shimchuk, a senior specialist of the Forestry “Teterinskoye”, local forests got 17 red deer.
“Our care to small rivers” action was held in Gorki district. 667 ecologists from different educational establishments partook in it. Pupils and teachers have been carrying out “Goluboi Patrul” (Blue patrol) action for 10 years already: they clean riversides, plant trees and bushes.
“Ecology. XXI Century” is the name of the project held by Shklov Central Library. The aim of the action is to gather information about ecological problems of the district and inform citizens on safe habitation. The readers of the library can not only read books and gain new knowledge but also relax watching seething water. The herbal tea room provides library visitors with herb tea.
This year the Belarusian Railways are to construct a modern carriage washing complex at the station of Mogilev. The complex is to be used for washing passenger trains and diesel trains. The information is provided by the press service of the Belarusian Railways.
Dendrology park with the area of 3.27 ha has been laid at Bykhov, at the crossroads of Sovetskaya street and railway station. Old trees and bushes uprooting, land recultivation and grass lawn planting have already been done.
Mogilev Metallurgic Plant is to produce a pilot lot of containers to collect worked-out batteries. It is a part of the State Recycling Program for 2009—2015.
