Ten sportsmen will represent Belarus at Winter Paralympic Games that will open in Sochi on March 7. The team includes three representatives of Mogilev region: Vasily Shapteboi, Sergei Silchenko, and the leading athlete Mikhail Lebedev. They will participate in cross-country skiing and biathlon.
Out of 10 medals six were brought to Belarus by swimmer Igor Boki in S13 and SM13 classifications. He won gold in 100m Butterfly on 31 August, silver in 50m Freestyle on 1 September, gold in 100m Freestyle on 2 September, gold in the 100m Backstroke on 3 September, broke the world record in the 400m Freestyle on 4 September, and was the best in the 200m Medley on 7 September.
Igor Boki from Bobruisk won his third gold medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London.
An eighteen-year old man was the first to finish the 100m Backstroke. This day he set the world record twice. Preliminary race brought him the result of 58.19 s to beat his record of 59.12 s. In the finals Igor considerably improved his record – 56.97 s.
On September, 2 the Belarusian swimmer Igor Boki from Bobruisk won the second gold medal at London Paralympics-2012.
On August, 22 Igor Bokiy from Bobruisk Swimming School goes to London to take part in the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games. The Games are the fourteenth Paralympics and take place between 29 August and 9 September. The information is provided by the Sports and Tourism Ministry of Belarus.
