As of 19 January, low ARD sickness rate was reported in Belarus, though there is a slow tendency to rise, a source at the Ministry of Public Health informed.
More than 3.2 thousand cases of Acute Respiratory Infection were registered in Mogilev last week; it stands for 21.3% increase comparing with the previous year. During the period sickness rate among children and teenagers went up by 27.3%, and among adults - by 12.4%, specialists of Mogilev local centre of hygiene and epidemiology informed.
Current flu and acute respiratory infection rates are not the matter of concern for Mogilev region’s doctors. The number of flu and acute respiratory infection cases in checkpoint towns is 40% lower than the minimum epidemic line.
Within the first two winter weeks no one fell ill with flu in Mogilev region. This year’s sickness rate of acute respiratory diseases is 30% lower than a year ago.
As usual, the majority of the infected – 60% – are children. In November there were two cases of flu, epidemiologists say. Influenza epidemic is supposed to happen at the end of January.
