A brick apartment building in the village of Uhlyast is very typical, not different from others. But two entrances to the building hold the signs “An apartment building for the elderly living together”. Once, the settlement was full of people. But with time it has become almost deserted. Two-floor apartment buildings stood empty.

2,025 people live in 9 nursing homes and psycho neurological houses of Mogilev region. The average age of the inhabitants makes 68 years. Due to various reasons they are not able to take care of themselves and have no close relatives.
Representatives of the Regional Economy Committee visited the family type orphanage in Kirovsk to congratulate children on the coming Christmas and New Year. The family type orphanage of Larisa Kalinkina and Leonid Kuznetsov brings up nine children of 5-13 years old.
Social home assistance service of Belarus celebrates its 25th anniversary. The information is provided by Svetlana Tarasenko, the chief of the Labour, Employment and Social Security Department of the regional administration. With years the service has improved and reached a lot. Today 10,700 Mogilev region’s citizens receive social home assistance.
March 2011 Kostyukovichi district social service centre and the district BRSM Committee are to hold the action “Baby”. The purpose of the action is to support small children which live in socially dangerous conditions.
The action includes collection of clothes and toys for kids aged 12 months and younger, preventive work with their mothers.
